Geocache Description:

Cache at the residence of the Archbishop of Cape Town

Bishopscourt is the official residence of the Archbishop of Cape Town. Probably the most famous Archbishop to have lived here is the legendary Desmond Tutu who was in residence here from 1986 - 1996. After that Njongonkulu Ndungane took up the post till 2007. The current Archbishop is Thabo Makgoba who has been here since 2007. In the past 15 years the state of the property has deteriorated and parts of the land sold off to developers which is a shame. Having lived next door for 30 years I have watched the comings and goings with some interest. During the festive season there are often carols in the garden which bring lots of famlies to the home.

The cache is hidden on outside the grounds so no need to try and gain access. It's a small magentic black nano container hidden close to the entrance but not anywhere on or near the gate entrance. Please respect the area when looking for the cache by parking responsibly
