La cache est placée sur le site de la Bibliothèque Schœlcher située à Fort-de-France, capitale de la Martinique. Ce bâtiment est sans doute l’un des plus beaux de la ville, il est classé monument historique depuis 1973.

The cache is located on the site of the Bibliotheque Schœlcher (Schœlcher Library) in Fort-de-France, capitale of Martinique. This building is certainly one of the most beautiful in the city and it has been classified as historical monument since 1973.

DIRECTION : L'entrée de la bibliothèque est sur la Rue de la Liberté, au centre-ville de Fort-de-France. Au nord de la Place de la Savane.

LE SITE : Construite à l’initiative de Victor Schœlcher (1804-1893) homme politique français qui a lutté et aidé grandement à l’abolition de l’esclavage, il proposa de faire don de toute sa collection (10.000 livres et 250 partitions musicales) si une bibliothèque était érigée sur l’île. Les travaux de construction du bâtiment sont dirigés par l’architecte français Pierre-Henri Picq. La bibliothèque ouvre ses portes en 1893.

LA CACHE est plus petite qu’une cache micro. Elle contient uniquement le log. Apportez donc votre crayon (BYOP) et soyez extrêmement discret, l’endroit est très fréquenté dans la journée. SVP replacez la cache exactement à l’endroit ou vous l’avez trouvée.

DIRECTION : The library main entrance is on the street Rue de la Liberté, in downtown Fort-de-France. North of the parc Place de la Savane.

THE SITE : Thanks to the initiative of Victor Schœlcher (1804-1893) a French politician who fought and helped greatly for the abolition of slavery, he proposed to donate his entire collection (10,000 books and 250 musical sheets) if a library was constructed on the island. The construction of the building was directed by the French architect Pierre-Henri Picq. The library opened in 1893.

THE CACHE is smaller than a micro cache. It contains only the log. So please bring your own pen (BYOP) and be extremely discreet, the place is very busy during the day. Please replace cache exactly where you found it.
