Final Jeopardy Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Big Zed: It is with great sadness that I announce the loss of Final Jeopardy, one of my geocaches. Final Jeopardy was third in the Jeopardy series and was the fourth geocache I published. It has gone missing and needs to be archived.

The cache containers for Jeopardy and Double Jeopardy (the other two in the series that remain) each gave a clue to finding Final Jeopardy, which was hidden in the top of a tall stump in Skeena Park in Comox. I recently visited ground zero and found that the decomposing stump is unsuitable to hide a replacement container. As I found no other hiding places in the park I have decided to archive the cache.

I would like to thank the many visitors to Final Jeopardy for their comments, and for the favourite points.

Geocache Description:

Welcome to Final Jeopardy

(Cache is not at the posted coordinates)

This is the third of three parts in Big Zed's Puzzle Extravaganza. Each cache in this series will take you to a walking path in the Comox area. In order to find this cache you must get the key, combine the codes retrieved from the first two caches in the series and decipher the coordinates.

First get the key. Give the correct response to the clue, and it must be in the form of a question... oh just fill in the blanks.

CLUE: This is something you can bounce on.
RESPONSE: What is a T _ A _ _ _ L _ _ E ?

The correct response is the key which is a ten-letter isogram—a word or phrase that does not contain any duplicate letters. This isogram is one word with three syllables, and it begins with a T and ends with an E. T equals 1, the next letter equals 2, and so and until the last letter E which equals 0.

Now use the key to find the corresponding numeric value of each letter in the codes obtained from the first two parts of the series: ABCDE from Jeopardy and FGHIJ from Double Jeopardy. The coordinates N 49° AB.CDE W 124° FG.HIJ will take you to Final Jeopardy.

This container contains a log book and nothing else, so bring your own writing stick. Please rehide as best you can. Good luck, players.
