Geocache Description:

This should be a fairly easy park and grab.

In search for an Oklahoma cache in close driving distance from Arkansas, We discovered we had to drive a bit to find one. So, We decided to place one for others to find but of course it couldn’t be just as simple as “here is a cache.” You should learn something. This cache is placed at the Red River which divides two states, Texas and Oklahoma. The Red River Showdown is relating to two things. First, there is a crazy rivalry between the Sooners and the Longhorns that started back in 1900 and the football game has been played on neutral ground in Dallas since 1929. Second, Oklahoma and Texas just finished a legal battle for the water in the Red River. Texas is overwhelming drought and sought to purchase water but was blocked by laws in Oklahoma. The Supreme Court made a decision this year in favor of Oklahoma. Now that your day is complete (because you learned something), on to the cache!
