Please note that you will need a high-clearance vehicle or 4x4 to complete this cache. Alternatively the cache can be done on foot, by MTB or on horseback. Although 95% of the road is suitable for sedan type vehicles, there are a few sections where you will need more than the usual ground clearance. Please know the capabilities of your vehicle for these sections!
Giba River Cascades
Stage 1 (the published co-ordinates) is close to where the Giba track crosses under the N3. Do NOT attrempt to access this stage from the N3. Access this stage by following the gravel road from the Giba Reception Area via the industrial park, and then up the hill. High clearance vehicle recommended, some sections will be difficult for a sedan vehicle.
Stage 2 (the co-ords of which you will find at Stage 1) is close to a disused access track to the dam at the bottom of the gorge. Note that vehicles are NOT permitted along this track and that there is a chain preventing vehicular access. There is however parking at this point, and the final location is a short walk away. This track can be used for walking, and by MTB and horses.
The final location is near a beautiful stream crossing along the "Shaya Moya" MTB trail. This is the Giba River and is a tributary of the Mhlatuzana River. Further upstream and downstream are some great waterfalls. Bushwhacking is NOT required from WP2. Follow the track and enjoy the views.
