The cache is located at a key junction on the road between Diamond Harbour and Pigeon Bay where seal gives way to metal surface and the road narrows. From here you drive downhill to a nice picnic area at Puari (site of a former historic Maori Pa) in Port Levy, or drive uphill and over to Pigeon bay where there is a spectacular walkway. The early whalers named Pigeon Bay after the pigeons that were abundant back then but now they are almost all gone. There is an abundance of other birdlife though and good fishing. Enjoy the drive.
The cache is a 20ml camo pill bottle. Do not untie from where it is attached, just unscrew the lid to access the log book.
