Geocache Description:

This is another in a series of caches that I hope will be fun and educational for the entire family.

The final location for the cache will be on a city street or county road

named for a particular state.

In this case the road sign says Colorado but Google calls it something else.

Do not be confused.

There is no cache at the listed coordinates. Do not go there.

The beautiful state of Colorado has always been one of my favorite states. Here are some interesting facts about Colorado:

It is the eighth most extensive in land area and 22nd most populous of the 50 United States.

The state was named for the Colorado River, which Spanish explorers named the Rio Colorado for the ruddy silt the river carried from the mountains.  The Western Slope of Colorado is drained by the Colorado River and its tributaries.

Colorado was admitted to the union as the 38th state.  It is noted for its vivid landscape of mountains, forests, high plains, mesas, canyons, plateaus, rivers, and desert lands.

Denver is the capital and the most highly-populated city in the state.  Most of Colorado's population resides along the eastern edge of the Rocky Mountains in the Front Range Urban Corridor between the Wyoming border and Pueblo, Colorado.  This region is partially protected from prevailing storms that blow in from the Pacific Ocean region by the high Rockies in the middle of Colorado.

The highest ambient air temperature ever recorded in Colorado was 118 degrees Fahrenheit and the lowest was -61 degrees Fahrenheit.

The Colorado Springs area is home to the U.S. Air Force Academy and NORAD (North American Aerospace Defense Command).
