Geocache Description:

Eveleigh played a pivotal role in the development of NSW railways.  This micro cache serves as an entry point to the old railway worksheds which have now been transformed into the Australian Technology Park.

Of particular interest is that the General Strike of 1917 started here with 3000 workers and spread right around Australia eventually involving 100,000 workers.  Also the first steam locomotives manufactured in Australia were made here.  The workshops were moved to Enfield in 1988.
