This #thirtyto30 cache revolves heavily around the hider's (Megan Jenkins) thirtieth birthday, approaching on November 5, 2013. We decided to place the geocache at the OCC as it is one of our favorite hidden gems in the city of Lynchburg. This is also our first time hiding a geocache, so we hope you enjoy!
To help you on your way, you first need to locate the grave of a young lady who would have been 100 years old the year the hider was born (pay attention to the title of the cache, and the paragraph above). The GPS coordinates of this cache will take you to the grave. From there, looking at the gravestone so that you can read it, you will need to head south to find the hidden cache. See the hint if you need help.
The geocache is a small box which contains a logbook and is a cache for taking and leaving of an item. We ask that if you'd like to participate, please bring a coin that has significance to you. To get the cache started, Megan has left several coins whose mint dates have significance to her. We ask that you do the same, and please, tell us why you chose the coin to take/leave in the log book and/or online! We would love to hear your stories!
The terrain is easy, though depending on where you park could be a bit of an uphill walk. The cache's location is easy/medium in difficulty and does not require any climbing.
