Geocache Description:

Explore the stunning seascapes and wilderness of Loch Fyne.

Description
This area lies around 2 miles from the fishing village of Tarbert, Loch Fyne. In close proximity to the grounds of the baronial Stonefield Castle, this area offers spectacular walks around the edges of the loch and in the surrounding Barfad. Rhododendrons, monkey puzzle, mussels and rarely, oysters.

Directions
This cache can be reached by going north along the A83 from Tarbert for 2 miles, or south from Lochgilphead for 12 miles. Suggested parking at Stonefield Castle: 55.8889, -5.4196. If you are cycling, you can very close to the cache.

The Cache
The cache requires you to explore the island-like peninsula that lies down at the shore. Here you will find monkey puzzle, mini rocky beaches, warrens, and caves formed from moss, rocks and tree roots.  One of our favourite places to explore, we come here frequently to reset from city life.
