In 1960, then democratic presidential candidate, John F. Kennedy visited the Levittown Plaza during a campaign event. After he was elected president, he never forgot the warm welcome that he received in Levittown, NJ. On November 1, 1963, President Kennedy sent a letter of congratulations to the township on its 5th anniversary. By the end of the month, our 35th president was felled by an assassin's bullet. With the building of a new high school, it was decided to name the school John F. Kennedy High School as a memorial. The street out in front, Park Road, was also renamed John F. Kennedy Way.* Please be careful of traffic and muggles and rehide cache as found!
