Bob the Builder Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

launchfan: I’ve looked and it’s gone. Love the story behind the cache, but can’t keep a cache alive, so time to archive after a very good run. Thanks to all for searching and finding. Rest In Peace Bob.

Geocache Description:

In memory of our neighborhood builder.

In the late 90s, Broadlands was just getting started.  Van Metre was the owner and largest developer, with two home lines being built.  The construction lead for the Van Metre Parkside series was Bob Zink.  If you live in a Parkside home anywhere in the vicinity of HIdden Turtle Pond, your home was built by Bob.  He made working through the challenges of construction schedules and inspections easy, exercising a lot of patience while the homeowners would complain and would help find a good solution.  In 2000, while working on a home on Meander Crossing Court, Bob collapsed from a heart attack and passed away.  In honor of Bob and his three daughters, Van Metre added a bench and three trees at a neighborhood playground.  Only one tree remains, but the bench still stands watch over the kids in the playground.  And now Bob has a geocache to keep him company. Note: cache is no longer on the bench. Kept disappearing. Make sure you rehide it well. I want to keep this active for Bob.
