Van Neste Park Tour Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

OReviewer: As there's been no cache to find for a long time or has had no owner response for at least 30 days, I'm archiving it to keep it from showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

Please note that if geocaches are archived by a reviewer or Geocaching HQ for lack of maintenance, they are not eligible for unarchival.

Geocache Description:

Van Neste Square Memorial Park is located In the center of Ridgewood's downtown shopping district, at East Ridgewood Avenue between Walnut Street and Oak Street.  It is dedicated to the town's war veterans, dating back to World War I.

You can check your answers for this puzzle on GeoChecker.com.

Our idea for this cache is to guide you through this busy park.  You will need to walk the park, including the surrounding sidewalks, to solve this Puzzle. The answer will lead you to a nano, placed near one of the sites in the park.  Stealth is a must, as the park is heavily frequented by Muggles either hanging out, or walking through. This accounts for a portion of the difficulty.

Please note that the park closes a half hour after sunset (per posted signs). Also, to park in the immediate area requires that you "feed" a parking meter. Please follow all parking regulations.

Final GZ: N40 58.ABC, W74 7.DEF

B = Last digit of the year that the restoration was completed. This information is found on a large rock with a flat top at the northern end of the park.

C = Are all of the benches within the park along the paths? For Yes, use 2, for No, use 5.

D = Number of Committee Members on the center of the park ground plaque, minus 22. (Executive Director excluded!! Look at the names carefully).

E = There is a statue of a boy eating ice cream cone. If he is holding it in his left hand, use 1. If he is holding it in his right hand, use 6.

F = Add the two digits of the American Legion Post. This info is found at the Veteran's Memorial at the starting point (on the left side of the plaque).
