Come for a great time to learn about EarthCaches, discuss your favorite EarthCaches, and maybe get to quiz the only Double Platinum Earthcache Master in the world, OXSLING as we celebrate this category of GeoCaching as it turns 10 years old today.

A great time was had by all! Happy 10th Birthday Earthcaching!!

Come join us as we celebrate the 10th Birthday of EarthCaches. This informal celebration will start at 6pm and continue until everyone goes home.

A special door prize will include a drawing for the official 10th Birthday Earthcaching Geocoin and travel bug (both items have the exact same trackable number.)

We will have a private dining room at one of the newest pizza restaurants in Oak Ridge for our gathering. You will not have to order anything to eat or drink unless you wish to, and everyone is welcome to join in the fun and sign the logbook.

History of Earthcaches

On the 10th of January, 2004, about 3 hours south of Sydney, Australia, the very first EarthCache was 'placed' by Geoaware and his two daughters. Today there are over 16,190 Earthcaches (as of 11/3/2013) listed on Geosociety.org (the new home for the EarthCache program).
