Első és legnagyobb problémája Nagyváradnak a CET, amely meleg vízzel és fűtéssel látja el a várost. A CET magas kéményeiből nem egyszer láttunk már előtörő, fekete, egybefüggő füstfelhőt, amely az éj leple alatt szürkére színezte a fehér havat vagy épp csak a fehér felületeket.
Nem egyszer volt úgy, hogy az ember saját bőrén érezte a szálló pernyét, vagy épp csak a pernye beborította a földet. Persze már számos tervezet van a CET rehabilitációjára, és már készülnek egy környezetbarátabb megoldással, de ki tudja mikor lesz az.
