*****EDIT: 5/25/2020 - There have been several "Found it" logs saying the cache has been found. Unless you find a matchstick container attached to a stick, you haven't found the cache. If you find a lock that says "I HEART GEOCACHING" that is not the cache. That is a trackable someone put on the fence. It has nothing to do with this cache. You are looking for 2 locks that have clues to the final location. I have deleted all FOUND IT logs after 2017 as that was the last time the log was signed!*****
I'm gonna tell you right now, this cache is HARD. Not hard like you gotta solve a puzzle, hard like it could take hours to finish. When I created this cache there was maybe 200 hundred locks on the fence. It now has to be a few thousand. So don't drive by thinking you're gonna hop out and find what you're looking for. You won't. You've been warned.
It is debated where this fad started. Some say Paris and some say Greece. Wherever it started, it has made it's way here to Lake Murray. Stop and read some of the locks. Each one tells a story.
SCE&G says they are aware of the fad and have no plans to stop people from putting locks on the fence or remove them.
There is a $2 bill for the FTF. Note 4/8/16: While it is free to park on the Lexington side of the dam, it is $5 to park during the Spring and Summer on the Irmo side of the dam. I replaced the cache today and it is good to go. Everyday the difficulty goes up on this one as more people add locks to the fence.
