The Regal Cinemas Huntingdon Valley 14 opened in 1993 with the most screens in the Philadelphia metropolitan area (at that time) and it was the first to install Dolby Digital technology. This was Regal’s first entry into the Philadelphia market, even though it was only two years old when this theater opened. This was one of Regal’s earlier builds, before megaplexes, and the theater included a café, which made it a little more upscale than its competitors.
In 1999, Regal Cinemas decided to open the Warrington Crossing 22 Cinema (with 5,200 stadium-seats) five miles west of GZ on County Line Road. This decision effectively spelled the end of the Regal Huntingdon Valley 14 Theater.
In 2001, the theater had become run-down, with some screens almost entirely stained and scratched. Immediately after closing, it was gutted and turned into the fitness center.
