Geocache Description:

This cache is placed in conjunction with the 100th Aniversary of the Lincoln Highway and the 6th Annual Grand Ol' Highway Event. This series will take you along the 1913 alignment of The Lincoln Highway through La Porte County.

Following Fisher's plea to leaders of the automotive industry, Frank Seiberling of Goodyear Tire provided $300,000 pledge to the Lincoln Highway Association (LHA). Sieberling would serve as president of the LHA for two-thirds of its existence. He oversaw the seedling mile projects and the transcontinental convoy and worked to improve the highway in the West. He leveraged corporate support and donated personal funds. Seiberling was an active participant from 1912 to 1928.
