The Bent Creek area was home to many families before it became a part of Pisgah National Forest. An old grist mill once stood nearby here, and used hydro power to grind corn for the residents of the region. Typically the mill owner would keep a portion of the cornmeal brought for grinding as payment.
Note: This cache is to be accessed on foot by the Old Mill Trail, NOT on the road!
