Located near the shore of Felton Lake. Felton Lake was once part of William C. Whitney's estate. Legend has it that "Old Man" Whitney still walks this and other parts of October Mountain State Forest, so be on the look out for him when you are finding this cache.
Local folklore from the Berkshires is that when "Old Man" Whitney's estate burned to the ground in 1929, "Old Man" Whitney died in the fire. Ghost stories told around town were that he could be seen walking the grounds of his estate with a lantern and his dog. Perhaps you will see Mr. Whitney in your travels up near Felton Lake.
