Geocache Description:

Cache is located inside the Old Stone Church Burial Ground which has been in operation since 1719.  You are looking for a small magnetic (though it needn't be) container that should be available in all seasons. The original cache was located under a wicked large evergreen, whose stump you can see nearby. I hope this will be attractive for travelers trying to pick up a cache easily on their way thru CT on Interstate 95. Use the Society Road Exit.

The back road from the East Lyme dump to the Library has always been a favorite of mine, partially because of the peaceful cemetery along the way.  There is a very obvious parking space or two right beside the formidable stone wall surrounding the burial ground.  Soldiers from as far back as the Civil War and the Revolutionary War are honored in this hallowed space.  Entrance to the cemetery is by the gate which used to be chained, but is now just held with a small bar.
