Welcome to the Crawford Park District Geo-Park Tour! This geotrail will take you to various parks within the Crawford Park District in Crawford County, Ohio. At each cache you will find a code. These codes can be recorded and your completed worksheet can then be returned to the Crawford Park District Nature Center at Lowe Volk Park to claim a collectable geocaching item! Unger Park
Unger Park is 53 acres in size and features over two miles of hiking trails that are open daily from sunrise to sunset. Visitors can see a prairie, forest, wetland, pond, and the Sandusky River. The trails connect to Aumiller Park and the Friendship bridge over the Sandusky River. Environmental education programs are available for area school classes and other organized groups. We have recently added a horse walking trail, mounting steps & a parking area for trailers. A historic barn is open to tour during special events. Dogs are welcome in the park as long as they are on a leash.
Unger Park shares a parking lot with OSU trial gardens and family garden plots.
The park is located on Bucyrus-Nevada Road about one mile west of the square in Bucyrus. There are no restrooms on site. The creation of Unger Park was made possible by a generous donation of a portion of the Unger family farm from Marie Unger of Bucyrus. The Park first opened to the public on October 4, 1997.
