Geocache Description:

The closest way in to this beautiful overlook of the lake and beach area of Hungry Mother SP is to park across from Camp Burson. There is a nice parking area and an information board with a copy of the local trails and any announcements on park activities.

The walk isn’t bad, if you have knee or breathing problems this trail could become difficult.  Take your time, hiking poles, water and a camera. Once you arrive at the overlook there are two great memorial benches placed there to take the load off and enjoy the great view. smiley

The cache isn’t at the benches so as not to attract Muggles so you will have to go about 155 feet into the woods to locate the 50 cal. Ammo can. Please trade even or trade up and conceal the cache again to give the next cachers an enjoyable hunt.

Thanks and Cache-On

Note: In all Virginia state parks you have to have permission to hide a geocache. Stop by the Headquarters building in the park and ask to talk to the official in charge of reviewing the Geocache Placement Application you will have to obtain from them. Let them be aware of your desire to hide and maintain a geocache in the park. Most parks may ask you to “not” make the cache for Premium members to allow the general plumbic the opportunity hunt while visiting the park. All my caches have been placed by permission at Hungry Mother State Park.
