The cache IS located at the posted coordinates, but please don't search on Sundays between 8 AM and 1 PM. You must meet one of the five (now seven) requirements of this challenge before logging it as a find. If you qualify in multiple ways, you may still only log this cache once.
Groundspeak introduced their own version of achievements/badges back in 2010 in the form of souvenirs. There are currently more than 150 souvenirs available (see complete list here).
In an effort to give as many as possible the opportunity to find this challenge cache, there are seven different ways to qualify:
1) Acquire five (5) event and special souvenirs (12/12/12, Leap Year 2012, Geocaching in Space, etc.). Souvenirs earned during the 31 Days of Geocaching do not count toward this requirement (see #3).
2) Acquire ten (10) location souvenirs (U.S. states, Canadian provinces, European countries, etc.)
3) Acquire fifteen (15) 31 Days of Geocaching souvenirs.
4) Acquire twenty (20) total souvenirs (can be any mixture of special event, location, and 31 Days of Geocaching.
5) BONUS: To date there have been four International Geocaching Day souvenirs - 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014. My assumption is there will be more. To honor the day that honors geocaching (the third Saturday of August), if you have any International Geocaching souvenir from any year, you automatically qualify for this cache as well.
6) BONUS 2 (8/31/14): Anyone earning The Achiever souvenir from the 7 Souvenirs of August promotion (2014) also automatically qualifies for this cache.
7) FINAL BONUS (10/7/14): Anyone earning their first souvenir (NC or otherwise) on the same day as finding this cache now also automatically qualifies.
Check your souvenirs to see if you qualify. While logging, be sure to state how you qualify for this challenge cache. There is no need to list the souvenirs unless they are not accessible through your public profile.
You may find and sign the log at any time with a "Write Note." After qualifying, simply change your log to a "Find."Claiming a find without actually qualifying for the challenge WILL unfortunately result in your log being deleted. |
