Norwood's Town Tower is a geocache in a wooded area behind the new water tower.
On my very first day of geocaching, I found my first cache, then drove home, ran up the hill here, and hid my first cache. Yup, first find and first hide in the same day... in the rain. I was hooked from the start !
Town Tower is a short trek up hill with a nice view of the town. There are 2 ways to approach this cache. From Highway 7, you can park at Foodland and walk uphill to the town's water tower and then down the other side of the hill, but only half-way. It's a beautiful view of the town. The hill is steep and can be icy in the winter. In the other 3 seasons, there is a nicely paved path. Follow the path.
The second way up the hill is to go up the (non-paved) path from the north side of the hill. It's a really nice short hike from there. Use the parking co-ords I included for you, near the cemetery. From there you can head out on foot on a nice path, up the hill, into the woods.
This water tower replaced the old tower after it buckled due to a vacuum. There is a good view of the town from the top of the hill. When you find the cache, feel free to trade a treasure. Please leave the log and the pencil and seal everything back up. I would love to see pictures. Caution: this terrain can be icy at certain times of year and is placed on a steep hill.
