Wheledon Copse is a small area of new woodland managed by the Woodland Trust. This is a popular area with dog walkers. There are many wild flowers and birds and it can be a peaceful place, especially in the summer.
There is a local story that the landowner wanted to plant a wood with wild flowers, but it was only after he died that the wood was planted. There is an information board close to the car parking which tells of how the area was planted. There is a memorial plate on the nearby bench to Herbert A Hinton "lover of nature and kind and gentle to all creatures, a passionate cricketer and veteran of the Great War."
The series is three traditional caches which should be easily found. However nettles and brambles may be a n issue in summer.
