Geocache Description:

Pull off completely, but do go too far as the ditch is soft.

Elton John has been going strong for nearly 50 years. Born Reginald Kenneth Dwight in 1947, he changed his name to Elton Hercules John and flew to stardom. He was somewhat flamboyant in his younger years, but he has settled down and was even knighted in 1998. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll hall of fame in 1994. He co-wrote most of his songs with Bernie Taupin. He has had at least one Billboard top 40 song every year between 1970 and 1990. This series of caches highlights some of his hits.

Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me

Released 1974 from the "Caribou" album.  In the song, Elton sings to someone he has helped and from whom he is now experiencing rejection.  Charted #1 in 1974 in Great Britain and made it to #16 in the United Stated.  As successful as the 1974 record had been, it was as a duet with George Michael that "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me" had its greatest success. It then reached #1 in the UK in 1991 and the US in 1992.
