katcogo: Checked on this one today and it seems to have flown the coop. I have placed replacements in different spots on the nearby structure without success. I guess it is a pretty cool place for kids to play so I'll let them have it. So sad.

I previously had a cache at this location and archived it.
When Keats94 placed a tribute to the original I was touched. He changed the location as he thought it was too close to one of his caches published later.
Curious, I checked it out and found it was still OK.
So, here is a replacement of that cache to give you a nicer stroll in the grove. Of course, if you found the original you are able to find this one again.
The following is the original text for the original cache:
The community of Forest Grove is one of the first planned communities in Burnaby, built in the early 1980s. It contains entirely townhouses, many as strata title condos, but is also home to a number of co-op projects. With no existing housing or roads, the forest was a blank slate for planners. They seem to have done a pretty good job.


There are a few things that characterize the community. One is the tank farms that surround it, accompanied with incessant signs warning about pipelines underfoot almost everywhere you turn.

Another feature is that the area is criss-crossed with well constructed pedestrian trails winding throughout the entire community.

Oh yeah, it is also built on the side of Burnaby Mountain so besides the obvious hills, there is a lot of wildlife in the area – and the forest..
