Back in the mid-80’s, Robert Hildebrandt and Patsy Perkins got an idea and decided they wanted to open the first “real” toy store to service interior Alaska. They did their homework, made trips to Seattle and Anchorage, got encouragement from Toy Shows and Toy Rep’s and thought the idea to be a “no brainer”…and sure enough it was! So, back on April 1st (no kidding!), 1986, they took the plunge and opened a toy store in the West Valley Plaza. After experiencing success there, they decided to relocate their store in 1994 to College Road where it still stands today.
This cache is dedicated to Robert and Patsy for bringing joy and happiness to Fairbanks families for over 27 years. Thanks, folks!
