This is one cache in a series of 10 being placed in honour of the Dewey Decimal System. (They are not being released in numerical order.) You can take the girl out of the library, but you can't take the library out of the girl! Each cache has a theme, which is reflected in the Dewey number it has been given. I am not assigning cutter numbers or subject headings. ;)
818 is the Dewey number for "American Literature in English: Miscellaneous Writings". I admit, the subject is a bit of a stretch, but hopefully you can follow my train of thought!
Geocaching, at it's best, brings us to other people's favourite places. Maria von Trapp famously sang about all things favourites in The Sound of Music, a movie based on her book The Story of the Trapp Family Singers. (And the book is American literature in English. I told you it was a stretch!)
Which brings me to why I placed a cache here: it is across the street from one of my favourite places! If you have some time, I hope you'll visit.
*Note: Please do not park on 137 Ave, and do cross the street very carefully, as it is an uncontrolled crossing. Or you could park over by the BPs and walk a block - there's a sidewalk most of the way. (I don't really need to say these things, do I?)
