Geocache Description:

Located on established trail west of Cedar Crest, The Governor's Residence. CAUTION: Poison Ivy is in the nearby vicinity. So is Virginia Creeper. Learn to tell the difference ie: Leaves of three, leave it be.

A plastic ammo box. The purpose of this cache is to promote awareness of Kansas native wildflowers. When leaving Cedar Crest, note the Native Plant Demonstration Garden at the entrance to Cedar Crest (intersection at Fairlawn Rd and Cedar Crest Drive). The garden has been maintained by Master Gardeners since 1991 to highlight plants native to Kansas. The Shawnee County Extension Master Gardeners also maintain the perennial (non-native) garden across the street from the Native Bed. Take some time and stop to smell the roses! In addition, the Master Gardener Native Plant Demonstration bed is also Monarch Way Station number 965. See monarchwatch.org for more info.
