Geocaching 101.TB - Let's Talk Trackables Event Cache

For this 101 the main topic will be Trackables - travel bugs, geocoins, and such.

In addition, we will discuss the Topeka 2014 Travelbug Race.

This event is being held 7pm, Friday December 20th at the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library, Marvin Auditorium 101B. This room is down the hall to the left after you enter the library.

At this event we will cover the following topics:
 

• Travelbugs
• Geocoins
• Trackable tattoos and other crazy things people have done (yes, I'm talking to you Phil  )
• Personal travelbugs
• What makes a good travelbug
• 'Discovering' trackables
• Making your own geocoin
• Useful websites for trackable information
• And, most importantly, the Topeka 2014 Travelbug Race

Over time trackables have lost a bit of their luster but they can still be a lot of fun to release into the wild. Hopefully after this event new and experienced geocachers alike will be excited about releasing a new trackable to participate in the Topeka 2014 Travelbug Race. The race will begin on January 1, 2014 and all the details will be discussed at the event. Event attendance is not required to participate in the race.
