This Alaska-themed cache, its original trackables, and a beautiful Alaskan geocoin FTF prize were given to me by representatives from the Geocache Alaska club on a visit to HQ. This is my first hide so I'm hoping it doesn't go missing too fast, as this is a high traffic area. The nickname of Alaska is "The Last Frontier." It sounds romantic and reminds me of StarTrek, so it's now the name of my cache.
Alaska contains the highest elevation in North America. Denali, or Mt. McKinley rises 20,360 feet above sea level. Don't forget your elevation gear!
Calvin B. "Cal" Anderson (May 2, 1948 – August 4, 1995) was an American politician. A Democrat, he served in both chambers of the Washington State Legislature, representing Seattle's 43rd house district. Anderson was Washington State's first openly gay legislator. In 2009, Forbes magazine recognized Cal Anderson Park as one of the 12 Best City Parks in the U.S. It offers a wading pool, fountain, texture pool and reflecting pool, promenade paths, landscaping, a shelterhouse, a plaza, playfields, tennis courts, basketball courts, and a playground.
