Geocache Description:

The Coordinates should bring you to the confluence of Turtlr Creek and Rock River.

What is a confluence? It's the joining of two significant waterways.

Even though this area doesn't seem to be all that important today, this confluence is really why South Beloit and Beloit are here. native Americans utilized this area long before America was discovered. As the settlers moved "West" this was a place to stop with a waterway leading further west.

Over the years industries and railroads were built along this river corridor. many of these were vacated and no one knew where the confluence was.

It is our hope that over the upcoming years this area again becomes a focal point of the area.

If you are lucky you might see an eagle or heron here.

Permission to place this cache was granted by Tracy L. Patrick,  City of South Beloit City Clerk.
