Geocache Description:

Salvaged!

Honestly, I was on the fence as to archive this one or knot. After reading recent and past logs I've decided to keep this one alive. Thanks to everyone who have participated in this puzzle!!!

THIS IS MY FIRST ATTEMPT AT A PUZZLE, PLEASE GO EASY ON ME! :D

MAKE SURE TO READ ALL DESCRIPTIONS/STATEMENTS BEFORE HEADING OUT TO LOCATE OR SOLVE THIS PUZZLE.

01) The Knot Cache can be found at the following location: N 42° 4A.BCD' W 73° 4E.FGH With the letters coinciding with the correct answers. The following statements will bring you to the Knot Cache.

02) This route is the only connection between the North and South forks of long island, east of Riverhead. It also crosses Shelter Island.

03) Now take that Route Number and Multiply it by 3.

04) If the sum of 3 is greater than 1000 ABC is equal to 472

05) If the sum of 3 is not greater than 1000 then ABC is equal to the original route number.

06) This Route is the longest north–south U.S. Highway in New York(New York milage not total)

07) This starts in Schenectady County

08) If the previous statement is true then the attributes are also accurate and 'D' should be equal to the sum of the 3 digit Route or the difference of the two digit route originally mentioned in statement 2, depending on how many digits were in the number. If its false the route number in statement 6 is equal to D

Are you still with me? Now it is going to get a bit interesting.

09) This state highway is located within Adirondack Park in northern New York, linking Franklin County to Essex County. The attributes are actually reversed.

10) If statement number 09 is false, 'EF' is equal to 63, disregard statements 11 and 12 and proceed to statement 14. Add 1 to the terrain.

11) Subtract 2 from the terrain level

12) if the statement in number 10 is true then you are looking for a micro and 'EF' is equal to the route number described in statement 10.

13) This NY Route intersects with NY 322 at Balcom Corners In Cherry Creek NY. This is 'GH'

You should now have the coordinates to the Knot cache.

14) The the map doesn't actually shows you the Cache location.

15) There is no real need to figure out the answers to the above statements. If you have figured it out to this point, Congratulations!!!

16) Make sure to bring a pen.

17) The preceding puzzle should point you to the same coordinates of the original listed way point. Meaning there really isn't a need to solve any puzzle. If you did you will end up at the same point as if you read the instructions that told you to read all statements before attempting to solve this. It just would take you a bit longer to get to this point.

18) You are actually looking for a micro.

19) Originally I tried to direct the knot cache to a pond which would have basically be chasing a ghost if you didn't follow instructions. I suppose that wouldn't have been nice.

20) It's actually not as easy to make 'filler statements' as I once thought. The Attributes are actually KNOT accurate either if it said not a park and grab it actually is. Just as if it says you have to clime a tree, you don't.

YOU SHOULD NOW HAVE ALL THE INFORMATION YOU NEED TO COMPLETE THIS PUZZLE, GOOD LUCK, AND THANKS FOR PLAYING!!!
