Miles to the Old Townhouse Series #2 Traditional Cache

This is the second milestone in a series dedicated to the old milestones along Main Road between Simonstown and Cape Town.  Traditionally all milestones measured the distance to the Old Townhouse which stood on what is known as Greenmarket Square today.  New caches in this series will be published frequently.

The retaining wall built around and above this milestone renders it almost invisible to the passing motorist.  This one marks XIX miles to the Old Townhouse.  There is nowhere to place the cache directly on the milestone so it is located near the Mossop Steps just 12 metres from this old milestone.  If you parked in Hillside Road above then you would have walked past the GZ on the way to view the milestone.  It's a magnetic micro and is a quick park and grab.  This is a muggle area so please use caution retrieving and replacing the cache.
