The North Shore boasts some of the best parks in Auckland so what better place to do our first cache. We hope you enjoy the adventure.
Shepherds Park spans approx 13.8 hectares containing many walk tracks, sports playing fields, playgrounds and small beaches. In days gone by, the land formed market gardens which were typical of the area before development.
The foreshore area contains Middens (historic Maori dumping grounds) from Maori occupation which are now protected under the Historic Places Act.
The headland area still displays remnants of an orchard and market garden, while the rest of the area has been developed to make room for the communities leisure.
The cache is in plain view from the base of the track but could have you 'pulling out your nails' to get to it! I hope you have as much fun getting it as we did placing it.

Please be careful to return the cache to the way you found it due to high traffic area and potential visibility. There is no force required to access this cache and can be done with NO tools
