Lange bevor es Möglichkeiten gab geheime Botschaften mit Hilfe von Technik ohne größere Gefahren zu übermitteln, musste eine wertvolle Schatulle den Besitzer wechseln.
Ein strenggläubiger Mönch hatte die Aufgabe unter den Augen seines Schutzpatrons, der an den oben genannten Koordinaten zu finden ist, diese Übergabe zu vollziehen.
Er wurde jedoch in einen Hinterhalt gelockt, entkam nur knapp seinen Verfolgern und versteckte die Schatulle in der Nähe. Der Empfänger fand, als er am Übergabeort eintraf, nur eine seltsam verschlüsselte Botschaft, die den Ort des Versteckes preisgeben soll.
Es ist überliefert, dass es ihm gelang die Nachricht zu entschlüsseln und die Schatulle zu finden. Doch ihr Wert wurde so hoch angesehen, dass er entschied sie an Ort und Stelle zu belassen. Zusätzlich zu der Nachricht, die von Generation zu Generation weitergegeben wurde, entwarf er eine modernere Fassung der Verschlüsselung. Er hatte Angst, dass in ferner Zukunft niemand mehr in der Lage sein würde das alte Rätsel zu lösen.

Gehe hin zum Schutzpatron, zu seinen Füßen findest du eine bronzene Inschrift. Dem Patron wurde diese alles überragende Statue an einem bestimmten Datum gewidmet.
Subtrahiere die Zahlen des Tages voneinander. Dies sei dein „A“.
Nehme den Monat in Zahlen und verschiebe das Komma um eine Stelle nach links. Dies sei dein „B“.
Addiere die erste, die dritte und die letzte Zahl des Jahres und teile sie durch zwei. Dies sei dein „C“.

A long time before there were ways to submit secret messages without major risks with the help of technology, a precious casket had to change its owner.
A devout monk was given the task to perform the exchange under the eyes of his patron, which can be found at the coordinates given above.
However, he was lured into an ambush, narrowly escaped his pursuers and hid the casket nearby. The receiver found, as he arrived at the handover, only a strange coded message, which should reveal the location of the hideout.
It is narrated he was able to decrypt the message and found the casket. But its value was so highly regarded that he decided to leave it there. In addition to the message, which was passed from generation to generation, he worked out a more modern version of the encryption. He was afraid that no one would be able to solve the ancient mystery in the far future.

At the patrons feet you will find a bronze inscription. The patron was dedicated this overarching statue at a specific date.
Subtract the numbers of the day from each other. This is your “A”.
Take the month in numbers and move the decimal point one place to the left. This is your “B”.
Add the first, third and last number of the year and divide it by two. This is your “C”.
