This cache is hidden in a peaceful, beautiful place. Countless childhood memories were formed here by boys growing up in the 1940's, '50's and `60's. Camp Arrowhead occupied this area during that time and was well-known in Richmond as a place that helped form young men. The campground obtained it's name from the fact that the area was once settled by early native Americans. Camp leaders would seed trails with arrowheads to stir excitement during hikes.
Not much remains now of the campground. There is a ruined poolhouse on the edge of a tiny lake used as a swimming hole and a few weathered pieces of the cabins that once stood here amongst the trees. *********************************************************************************** The cache container is large enough for significant amounts of swag. If you wish to leave something, I suggest the theme of camping. To find the best place to park, follow Harvie Road where it becomes Meadowview Lane heading East and deadends with a dirt road leading right to the campground site. There is only about a .20 hike each way. The area where the campground was is considered part of Meadowview Park.
Explore and have fun!
Congrats to Foxtrot and D&D for FTF!!!
