Geocache Description:

This will take you to one of the many beautiful gardens on Cornell campus.

If you spend any amount of time on Cornell's campus you're bound to encounter the 'Uris' name many times over! Harold Uris was a real estate developer and philanthropist who graduated from Cornell in 1925 with a civil engineering degree. Harold and Brother Percy would eventually become New York City's largest private developers. In 1956 the Uris Brothers Foundation donated $12 million to Cornell. Harold has two buildings that bear his name. The social science building Uris Hall and the Uris Library which was renamed from Olin Library in 1962. In addition to the buildings, there are many other beautiful places and art on campus that are a direct result of the Uris's generosity:
Jacques Lipchitz's 'Bather' sculpture in Olin Library sculpture court
R. Uris Garden
Ruth Uris Rock Garden
Harold D & Ruth C Uris Book Fund

Parking on campus is next to impossible during normal business hours (7:00am – 5:00pm) During normal hours we suggest you use the metered parking area listed on this page. Note that the normal business hours parking is in effect even during the summer months so use discretion.

You are looking for a camouflaged match box. Be sure to stay on the paths and the sidewalk; be mindful of the flower beds and BYOP.
