Bâti au début du XIIIe siècle par la famille de Chalon au sommet du pic d’Oliferne (807m), le château offre un panorama exceptionnel à 360° sur la vallée de l’Ain et sur la chaine des Monts-Jura.
La découverte du site se fait par un « sentier du patrimoine » avec panneaux d’interprétation qui vous plongeront dans l'histoire et les légendes entourant ces ruines.
Accès : depuis Boutavant un chemin carrossable conduit à 600m du château, mais certains préféreront peut-être épargner leur voiture et faire la balade à pieds (+2km).

Built in the early thirteenth century by the family of Chalon atop the peak Oliferne (807m), the castle offers a magnificent panorama over the valley of the Ain. The discovery of the site is through a "heritage trail" with interpretive panels that will immerse you in the history and legends surrounding these ruins.
Access : From Boutavant, a dirt road leads to the castle, but perhaps some will prefer to save their car and make the trip on foot (+2km).
