What's up STEVE! Excuses don't impress anyone- I mean I can't remember reading too many DNF logs with a heart full of empathy.
The geo-moral of this cache is "leave it better than you found it".
For this cache we'll concentrate on the "damp\wet\full log" comments. Log books are free and come in all shapes and sizes and even though the tiny baggies aren't free, they're not all that expensive. Instead of leaving the description of a less than fun experience because you encountered a damp/wet/missing log, try replacing it. If you are uncomfortable removing the old log because it is trash, just drop in a new one alongside the old one and leave a note for the owner explaining what you did.
Wouldn't it be more fun to say you helped make the cache better for the next cacher, - be a doer! This cache shouldn't be too tough to track down- Steve will let you know what's up.
