Geocaching should be more than just finding a small log holder hidden somewhere. While these are good for those that like the numbers, it is also nice when Caching takes us to very interesting sites. In this Business Park, there are quite a few nice touches to the landscaping. When you are at this cache, you can see a statue called "Dissimilar Equals." The statue was sculpted by Bill Bedford of Laguna Beach in 1987. Along with an interesting name, it is also an interesting take on a very popular pasttime here in the OC.
I do not know how many statue caches I will place, but please feel welcome to make some statue caches yourself if you find a very interesting statue.
The cache is NOT on the statue and not even very close. It is a little ways away so that you don't bring suspicion while hunting for the cache. While not a requirement, it would be nice for you to put a line or two about the statue in your log. Let others know if you think the statue was inspirational, thought provoking, moving, interesting, bizarre, wrongly named, abstract, etc..... When I see this statue, I think of the playfulness of the human spirit and the Southern California mindset, wild and free.
While here, you will notice another statue in the pool created by the fountain nearby. I could not find a name plate but the statue is two eagles with one of them carrying a fish. An outdoor themed statue that is well done in my humble opinion.
This is a NANO, so bring a pen or pencil!
