Geocache Description:

The Grassy Knoll

Fifty years ago this year (2013) on November 22nd, the 35th President of the USA, John Fitzgerald Kennedy, aka "JFK", was assassinated in Dealey Plaza, Dallas, Texas. This cache is placed in remembrance of this momentous event of the 20th century.

Whilst I was not alive when it happened, I do remember when I first read about it during my formative primary school years and it stuck in my mind as one of those significant "You remember what you were doing when you heard about such and such..." events.

Debate has raged over the past 50 years as to whether there was more than one shooter, and many conspiracy theories abound - The Zapruder footage and associated intrigue of this shocking event has caused this to be one of the most well known assassinations of modern times...

About the cache
The cache is a small black tube with room for a rolled up logsheet only. Please bring a pen to sign it.

About the location
To get to the cache, park at the designated parking spot and walk along the path beside the "grassy knoll" - Beware there is some gorse on the track so wear sturdy footwear and prickle-proof clothing!

Logging Your Find
A logsheet is provided for your logging pleasure. Please let me know when the logsheet is nearing maintenance time and I will supply a new sheet.
