The 50th anniversary of JFK's Assassination Cache
For years I have wondered why this area was allowed to be locked down with a virtual cache by a CO that doesn't even live in the State. I surveyed the area several times to find an ideal location for a physical cache and given the timing of the 50th happening this year I thought it was time for a local to have a cache at this important location. About two weeks before the 50th Anniversary of the Assassination of JFK was going to be remembered a story posted in a local geocaching group facebook page (SWAG) about one of our local cachers (Fe), and a friend, having sat at the top above this cache and watched JFKs car whisk by after he had been shot. I immediately went to Google Earth and made sure that it was far enough away from other caches in the area and started throwing all the things together to deploy. I remember watching my Dad and his brother (my Uncle) watching an old black and white TV crying as the news confirmed that JFK was dead. Once this log book get filled I will donate it to the 6th Floor Muesum. Please feel free you write your memories and comments in logs online as well.
