Chesham Woods - Lower Lee

The cache is located at Chesham Woods, 1.5 miles north of Bury town centre. The terrain is dependant on the weather and time of year but generally the paths are overgrown dirt paths which when wet are quite muddy and covered in woodland debris, it is quite slippery so a good pair of shoes or preferably wellingtons are required, there are gentle slopes, fences, gates and styles to pass through so I would say it is unsuitable for those with moderate to severe walking difficulties or the disabled.
Parking
By car you can park your car at Clarence Park Lido car park (nearest postcode BL9 6NG) which is a good start point.
Alternatively, for a slightly longer walk, you can park on Chesham Road just past Danesmoor Drive (nearest postcode BL9 6HA).
As always parking is at your own risk.
About the cache
The woodland is fairly busy especially in summer with locals walking dogs or families enjoying a walk, therefore stealth is require to avoid muggles. I have placed the small traditional cache near to an open field in a lesser used part of the woods, there is a log book and small bits and pieces in the cache (I may bag the cache to stop slugs and to add to the camouflage). There is a little stream trickling where the cache is. Take your time, enjoy the woodland and why not explore other parts or the woodland paths when you have found the cache.
This is a nature reserve so please respect the environment and wildlife, taking any litter with you. Hope you enjoy this one.
