Geocache Description:

This is the first cache on a circular walk of just over 3 miles taking in a beautiful wooded river valley. The path is wet, muddy and uneven in places. The walk involves a fairly steep descent and obviously an uphill stretch to return to the car.

From the parking area follow the signpost for Bovey Valley. At the next footpath junction go straight across towards Bovey Valley. Before heading on though make sure to turn around to see the old waterwheel on the granite Water Mill.

Wellies would be advised at the moment as there is a flood between number 12 and the final one.

The first half of the walk meets up with the River Bovey in Houndtor Wood and follows it down the valley through woodland owned by Natural England and then you return via the Woodland Trust reserve.

The GPS signal is not very good along this route but hopefully with the given hints it should be ok!

Please re-hide well. Thank you.

With thanks to Natural England for allowing us to place the cache.
