A cache hidden along Calaveras Trail in Harvey Bear Ranch.
This was one of the few trails in the park that I had not yet hiked. Before heading out, I asked a ranger why the trail didn't seem to have much traffic (and no geocaches!) and he said that it cut through an area of heavy cattle grazing. He was right! Although the trail at times became little more than a cattle path and I frequently encountered the animals themselves, it was fairly flat and meandered through some beautiful oak woodlands--definitely worth at least one visit.
This area of the trail was thick with oaks and their nasty cousin, Poison!
No need to do any culvert diving--just check out its lip.
The container is a 35mm with a log. Please bring your own pen.
