This cache is a little way off the trail as you work your way up to the cook hill cache. It is on the fringe (more or less) of an area that was clearcut 30-50 years ago or so. Offtrail navigation is much more difficult in newer forests for obvious reasons (or, if you haven't noticed before, reasons that will be obvious when you get there).
