This cache has been archived.

Ilikelooksee: Well folks, looked at the new structure and its farther along the rocks and not as safe to get to. Also I cannot duplicate the challenge of the hide so unfortunately I will be putting this one down. Thanks to all who looked and hope it was fun for you while it lasted.

Geocache Description:

This cache is located about 1.5 miles southwest of  the town of Waimea on the Westside of  Kauai at a busy and highly controversial little boat harbor in Kekaha.

I remember my father taking my two boys and their cousins for walks along the black sand beach to get to this little harbor so they could go for a swim in the harbor.  The Kikiaola Small Boat Harbor was primarily used by the local population for launching there boats to go fishing.   Today, the harbor is used heavily by tour boats that take people on boat cruises to the Napali coast for whale watching and snorkeling expeditions. There has been a lot of talk of the condition of this harbor and its facilities. Adjacent to the harbor is a beach house that is frequently used as a vacation home but mostly for a variety of occasions such as weddings, graduation parties and other functions by the Kauai community.  The cache is a nano so bring a pen and some tweezers. Please make sure to be gentle with it and move to solid ground before attempting to log find because some have lost a few caches in the rocks recently. Replace as found or better. Thank you for your cooperation and Happy Hunting!!
